A friend asked me if I could take the quilt blocks she found in her mom’s closet and make a quilt from them.  The blocks that I received were clearly hand cut and hand sewn, so I had to reinforce the stitching, but I left her mom’s stitching tucked safely inside.  I needed to add a few blocks to have enough for a quilt big enough to cuddle under and feel her mom’s hug.  I secretly snatched the photo she posted of herself and her mom on Facebook and had it printed on fabric, then added a custom embroidered label with a poem honoring her mom, and hopefully giving Carla some peace that her mom isn’t far.

Finished November 2016.
